Growing Up in Australia: The Longitudinal Study of Australian Children was officially launched by The Hon. Kay Patterson, Minister for Family and Community Services at the Melbourne Museum on February 8th. The Minister's speech [PDF], delivered at the launch, provides some background information and the government perspective on this important study.

Balloons were handed out to all children at the launch in the Growing Up in Australia colours. Other giveaways included Growing Up in Australia colouring books, pencils and fridge magnets.
